Mumbai: The Indian audience was left disappointed after watching ‘Superman’ in theatres as a couple of kissing scenes were edited out by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) from the movie.
Indian viewers took to social media to slam the CBFC for censoring scenes from a global release like ‘Superman’.
“CBFC deletes 33-second-long ‘sensual visual’ in Superman. FFS, it’s a PG-13 rated SUPERMAN movie! This country sucks,” wrote a viewer.

“What’s wrong with Indian censor board? They cut out the kisses between Clarke and Lois. What kind of oversensitive morons are running the censor board? You think Indian audiences can’t handle kissing? You think children today don’t know what kissing is? Fuck off. #Superman,” commented another person.

Directed by James Gunn, the film was released worldwide on July 11. The film stars David Corenswet as Clark Kent and Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane.
Despite the same-day global release, the version seen by Indian audiences was different, and this irked movie buffs.
The multiple edits made by CBFC included a 33-second kiss between David and Rachel.
According to a Bollywood Hungama report, the CBFC described the kissing scene as a “sensual visual” and objected to it.
