India’s COVID-19 Tally Breaches 26 Lakh-Mark; Sample Testing Exceeds 3 Crore
New Delhi: A single-day surge of 57,981 infections took India’s COVID-19 tally past 26 lakh to stand at 26,47,663 on Monday.
A total of 941 fresh fatalities have been reported from across the country overnight, according to Union Health Ministry. The fatality rate has dipped below 2 per cent and stands at 1.92 per cent with total 50,921 COVID-19 deaths.
About 72.51 per cent (19,19,842 ) people have recovered, including 57,584 patients in the last 24 hours, while 25.57 per cent (6,76,900) are still under treatment.
According to Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), the total number of samples tested so far is 3,00,41,400 which includes Sunday’s 7,31,697.
