New Delhi: The total tally of COVID-19 cases in the country went up to 566,840 with the addition of 18,522 new cases in the past 24 hours, the Union Health Ministry said on Saturday.
Meanwhile, 418 new fatalities across the country since Friday took the toll to 16,893, the ministry added.
According to ICMR, 86 lakh samples have been tested for COVID-19 so far, including 2,1 lakh on Monday.
With 1,69,883 confirmed cases of COVID-19, Maharashtra remains the worst-affected state in the country, followed by Tamil Nadu (86,224) and Delhi (85,161).
At present, there are 215,125 active cases in the country and 334,821 patients have recovered from the infection.
