India’s Harmanpreet Kaur Ranks 12th In ICC Women’s T20

Mumbai: India’s Harmanpreet Kaur has made a mark for herself by occupying the 12th spot in the ICC Women’s T20 rankings on Tuesday.

Harmanpreet jumped four spots to share the 12th position with Sri Lanka’s Harshitha Samarawickrama in the ICC Women’s T20 batting rankings.

Meanwhile, off-spinner Shreyanka Patil has managed to occupy the 29th position in the bowlers’ rankings.

On the other hand, Smriti Mandhana dropped one place to fifth, and Jemimah Rodrigues slipped to the 20th spot.

Veteran offspinner Deepti Sharma slipped two places to fourth, but Renuka Singh Thakur maintained her fifth position.

Pakistan spinner Sadia Iqbal became the first from her country to top the rankings for a brief period by overshadowing Sophie Ecclestone, a long-time first rank holder. However, she later slipped to the second spot.

The ninth edition of ICC Women’s T20 World Cup is being held at UAE. Originally, Bangladesh was to host the event. However, due to political unrest in the country, the event shifted to UAE.
