Bhubaneswar: An Indigo flight had to make unscheduled landing at Biju Patnaik International Airport, here on Thursday evening due to emergency health condition of one of its passengers.
The passenger, Jayabrata Ghosh was travelling along with three of his family members in the Indigo 946 flight from Kolkata to Hyderabad. While the flight was mid-air, 59-year-old Ghosh developed breathing problem.
A doctor of Apollo Hospital attended him in flight itself and declared that he had suffered cardiac arrest. He advised to immediately admit Ghosh in hospital.
The flight staff took a decision and made emergency landing at Bhubaneswar airport at around 6 pm. Ghosh accompanied by his family members and Indigo staff rushed him to Capital Hospital in an AAI ambulance.
The doctors of the hospital immediately attended to him in the Emergency department. But they failed to survive him and declared him dead.
