Sambalpur: The inflow of water in the Hirakud dam has started reducing on Sunday, Special Relief Commissioner Pradeep Jena informed.
The expected peak flood flow will be around 10 lakh cusecs at Mundali which may continue for a day till Monday forenoon due to continuous high inflow for long-duration from Chhattisgarh, SRC Jena said.

The inflow and outflow at 4am on Sunday was 8,02,598 cusecs and 7,64,479 cusecs, as compared to 8,85,291 cusecs and 6,94,704 cusecs, respectively on Saturday.
The water level of the reservoir stands at 627.85 feet as against its full capacity of 630 feet.
Floodwater is now being released through 46 gates of the Hirakud dam. The inflow and outflow of water were recorded at 8,02,539 cusecs/second and 7,64,419 cusecs/second respectively.
