Bhubaneswar: With the Indian IT Industry marching ahead into the digital era, coupled with continuous improvement and innovations, there has been a constant focus on increasing diversity footprint in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) areas. Blending technology and the diversity dimension, Infosys Bhubaneswar organised a full-day ‘Women in Technology’ event on Saturday on the Infocity campus. The event is a precursor to the International Women’s Day, 2019.
The Infosys Leadership and the Diversity and Inclusivity team continually strives to provide a platform to women across the organization / industry to exchange ideas, learn about the new disruptive trends affecting the industry and our preparedness to navigate through it and deliberate on the challenges faced by women in the industry.
As part of the International Women’s Day celebration, 2019, an Inter-Location Technical Road Show cum contest “Mavens and Mavericks” was organized. Eleven teams from various Infosys locations participated in the event and showcased their technical solutions.
The Roadshow was inaugurated by Infosys Bhubaneswar Centre Head and Assistant Vice President, Prabhat Kumar Das.
Parallely, a National HRD Network, Bhubaneswar Chapter event titled, ‘WPOWER 2019’ was organised on the sidelines. Close to 85 participants from different organisations participated in this one-day workshop, based on the International Women’s Day, theme of ‘Think Equal, Build Smart, Innovate for Change’.
