Mumbai: Is Ravindra Jadeja at loggerheads with his IPL franchise Chennai Super Kings (CSK)?
Such murmurs are being heard after CSK unfollowed the cricketer on Instagram.
CSK’s CEO Kasi Viswanathan, however, said that there’s nothing wrong between the franchise and Jadeja.
“Social media, I absolutely do not follow anything. I have no knowledge of what is going on there. What I can tell you is that from the management side, there has been no problem and whatever is there on social media, I’m not aware. Jadeja firmly remains in the CSK’s scheme of things for the future, always,” stated Kasi.
Jadeja has been an integral part of CSK since 2012, apart from the two seasons when the franchise was banned for match-fixing charges.
The Team India allrounder, however, had a forgettable IPL this season after being named captain as MS Dhoni didn’t want to lead the side. He failed to lead from the front as defending champions CSK lost six out of eight matches under him.
Such was his state of mind that Jadeja stepped down as captain, prompting Dhoni to take charge once again.
To make matters worse, Jadeja suffered a rib injury which has ruled him out of the remainder of IPL.
And now speculation of a rift.
