Following Facebook, photo-sharing app Instagram will soon allow users to hide the ‘Like’ count on their posts from public.
The author, however, will be able to view the number of likes on post. Facebook is currently considering doing a test on this feature for Instagram.
According to media reports, Instagram users in Ireland, Italy, Japan, Brazil, Australia, and New Zealand are able to hide the ‘Like’ count.
Instagram is reportedly trying to “remove pressure among its users” and would want people “worry a little bit less about how many likes they’re getting on Instagram and spend a bit more time connecting with the people that they care about.”
