Berhampur: Two miscreants allegedly killed a woman on the rooftop of her house in Ganjam district on Saturday night.
According to sources, the woman, Jyotshna Rani Sahu was sitting on the roof of her house alone at Malasapadar village under Bhanjanagar police station when the miscreants attacked her with sharp weapons.
As Jyotshna cried for help, her family members, who were downstairs, rushed to the roof. When they reached there, she was lying in a pool of blood and was dead. They informed the police who came to the spot and sent the body for post-mortem to Bhanjanagar Hospital. Further investigation is on.
The family members said Jyoshna was instrumental in the arrest of a criminal by the police a few days ago. They suspected that her murder may have connection with the incident.
Police said it would be premature to say anything, but all angles were investigated.
