The India Meteorological Department (IMD), in a morning bulletin, said that a well-marked low-pressure over the south-east Bay of Bengal and adjoining areas of the south Andaman Sea and the equatorial Indian Ocean is very likely to concentrate into a depression during the next 36 hours. The system is likely to intensify further and move westnorthwestwards and reach near south Tamil Nadu coast around in the next 48 hours on December 2.
“As the system will have no impact on Odisha, the minimum night temperature will fall by 2-3°C in the state during next 48 hours and continue for a week till December 6 as the cold wind has started blowing from the Himalayan region,” it added.
