Bhubaneswar: International Day of Persons with Disabilities was observed at SAI International here on Wednesday.
“Let’s talk about disability, inclusion and accessibility and let’s embrace differences and celebrate diversity,” said Dr Sruti Mohapatra, founder and chief executive officer, Swabhiman, an NGO, on the occasion. Mohapatra was the keynote speaker.
Principal, Secondary SAI International School, Prakash Sahoo gave the welcome address and emphasised upon creating an inclusive, empathetic and compassionate society.
Speakers focussed on busting myths about disability and presented facts. An interactive session with stimulating activities with the students was also held. Children also learnt sign language and shared their experiences.
Senior Principal Nilakantha Panigrahi was present on the occasion.
