New Delhi: Union Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri on Saturday said that the government could start international flight operations by mid-June or end-July, if the situation amid the coronavirus improves in the country.
Since the government gave its nod to resume the domestic flights’ service in a calibrated way from May 25, it is further planning to bring more grounded flights into operation going further.
“Why wait till August or September? If the situation eases or improves, if the virus behaves in a predictable manner and we get used to co-exist(ing) with it, we’re in a position to make arrangements. Why not start by June middle or end July?” the Aviation Minister told the media.
Moreover, the ministry cleared that the domestic passengers who show “green” on the Aarogya Setu app need not go under quarantine.
