Bhubaneswar: The five-day International Odissi Dance Festival in Bhubaneswar concluded with mesmerising solo, duet and group performances by dancers from across the country and abroad on Saturday.
The morning session featured performances by Surya Gurukul from Cuttack (Group), Nandita Priyadarshini Mohanty from Puri (Solo), Rekha Mohanty from Keonjhar (Solo), Kanhu Charan Pradhan & Ananya Sahu from Jeypore (Duet), Sangeeta Mansing Shingte, Mumbai (Solo), Dibyadarshinee Supakar from Bhubaneswar (Solo), Lavisha Gulati & Sheysha Singh from Uttar Pradesh (Duet), Mayurakshi Mitra from New Delhi (Solo), Esha Mukharjee, Siliguri (Solo) and Angika institution from Cuttack (Group).
In the afternoon session, Nrityabasa Prerana from West Bengal (Group), Kavita Mishra & Raju Mishra from
West Bengal (Duet), Meghambari Pradhan from Bhubaneswar (Solo), Nikita Das & Soham Dey from West Bengal (Duet), Anna Matveeva from Russia (Solo), Bramhee Sarangi from Bhubaneswar (Solo) and Nrutya Upasana Pitha
from Khurda (Group) presented brilliant Odissi show on the stage of Rabindra Mandap.
The evening programme started with the performance by renowned Odissi Guru Durga Charan Ranbir, senior disciple of Guru Deba Prasad Das & Guru Pankaj Charan Das, Swapnokalpa Anjan Dasgupta from Mumbai
(Solo), Sushant Kumar Dash from Chhattisgarh (Solo), Aishwarya Sanjay & Bhargavi Gajanan from Maharashtra (Duet), Rojalin Sundaray from Bhubaneswar (Solo), Bhagyajyoti Priyadarshini from Angul (Solo), Natasha Karmakar & Debaprita Dutta from Uttar Pradesh (Duet), Molnar Zselyke, Hungary (Solo), Rashmi Rekha Das, Bhubaneswar (Solo) and Odissi Dance Creation from Bhubaneswar (Group).
The Odissi dance lovers of the city thronged in large number to the International Odissi Dance Festival.
Among others, Niranjan Panda, all-India secretary, Sanskar Bharati; Rabinarayan Rath, renowned sculptor and Anuja Tarini Mishra, administrative officer, GKCM Odissi Research Centre were present at the concluding day’s programme which was anchored by Mrutunjaya Rath.
The Odissi Dance Festival was organised by Guru Kelu Charan Mohapatra Odissi Research Centre under the aegis of Department of Odia Language, Literature and Culture.
