Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Government on Friday cleared investment proposals worth Rs 1177 crore which include Hindustan Sanitaryware Industry’s glass container manufacturing unit at Cuttack worth Rs 350 crore.
The proposals, cleared by the state level single window clearance authority led by Chief Secretary A P Padhi, is expected to create employment opportunities for over 6000 people.
Two proposals in the IT sector also received the Government’s nod. They include the Rs 75 crore cellular handset and accessories company by Jaipur based StarGSM Upakaran Peripherals and a Rs 65 crore software unit by Hyderabad-based C-TEl. These two units will come up at the Electronics Manufacturing Cluster at InfoValley near here, generating employment for about 2030 people.
A biogas ethanol plant at Bargarh by BPCL with an investment of Rs 250 crore also got the approval of the single window clearance authority. Besides, a proposal of the HIL Limited for a Rs 100 crore agrochemicals manufacturing unit at Chatrapur in Ganjam was also cleared at the meeting today. Both these projects could generate employment for about 550 people.
Mayfair Group’s plan for a golf resort at Satapada in Puri district with an investment of Rs 125 crore was also cleared. It will create 550 additional jobs and provide high-end accommodation facilities for tourists.
An electric vehicle manufacturing unit at Jajpur worth Rs 52 crore was also approved. Besides, Odisha-based Om Oil and Flour Mills proposal to set up a Rs 100 crore unit for production of spices, pasta, noodles, fruit-based beverages at Ramdaspur in Cuttack also received the Government’s nod.
