Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government on Friday effected a massive reshuffle in the IPS cadre and assigned new postings to 26 officers.
According to the notification issued by the Home Department, IGP, Operations, Jai Narayan Pankaj has been transferred and posted as IGP, Intelligence. He will be replaced by Deepak Kumar, who has been moved from IGP, Home Guards and Fire Services to lead the operations wing, overseeing anti-Maoist activities.
Similarly, IGP, Personnel, Praveen Kumar has been transferred and posted as IGP, Central Range, Cuttack and IGP, SWR, Koraput, Niti Shekhar, as IGP, Southern Range.
The twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack also got new DCPs. Jagmohan Meena will replace Pinak Mishra as Bhubaneswar DCP, with the latter being appointed as DIG, STF. Similarly, Khilari Rishikesh Dyandeo, will succeed Meena as Cuttack DCP. Dnyandeo was earlier serving as Balangir SP.
The notification further stated that Narasingh Bhol, a 2002-batch IPS officer, has been appointed as the Additional Commissioner of Police (CP) for the twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack. Bhol was earlier working as the Excise Commissioner of Odisha. He will replace incumbent Additional CP for Bhubaneswar-Cuttack Umashankar Dash, who has been transferred and posted as DIG, Home Guards and Fire Services.
Jeypore SDPO Ankit Kumar Verma has been transferred and posted as Additional DCP, Bhubaneswar. Similarly, Padmapur SDPO Amritpal Kaur has been transferred and posted as Additional DCP, Bhubaneswar. Bonai SDPO Sonali Singh Parmer has been appointed ACP, Bhubaneswar UPD.
S M Narvane, a 1989 batch IPS officer, has been appointed as the Special DG, OHRC. He was earlier working as Director, Printing, Stationary and Publication, Odisha in Cuttack.
Sarthak Sarangi, IGP, SR, Berhampur, has been transferred and posted as IGP, CID-CB. New SPs have also been appointed for three districts: Abilash G for Balangir, Nagaraj Devarakonda for Kalahandi, and Rahul Goel for Boudh.
It is the second big reshuffle after Y B Khurania assumed charge as Odisha DGP on August 16, 2024.

Jugal Kishore Kumar Banoth, DIG, State Police Hdqrs, has been transferred and posted as DIG, Personnel.
Battula Gangdhar, DIG, State Police Hdqrs, has been transferred and posted as DIG, CID, CB.
Vivekananda Sharma, AIGP, State Police Hdqrs, has been transferred and posted as SP, Railways, Cuttack.
Jeypore SDPO Ankit Kumar Verma, has been transferred and posted as Addl DCP, Bhubaneswar, UPD.
Kashyap Partha Jagdish, IPS, Probationer, has been appointed SDPO, Jeypore.
