New Delhi: Debris from a missile interception killed an Indian in Abu Dhabi on Thursday as the conflict in West Asia, triggered by the US-Iran war, is set to complete four weeks.

According to a message shared by Jordan’s foreign ministry, a Pakistani national was the other casualty in the Iranian attack. A Jordanian citizen was among three people injured in the tragic incident that took place at Sweihan street of Abu Dhabi.

The death toll of Indians in the conflict in West Asia has gone up to seven. Two lost their lives in Oman, three in Saudi Arabia and two in the UAE.

“Abu Dhabi authorities have responded to an incident involving falling debris in Sweihan street, following the successful interception of a ballistic missile by air defence systems,” Abu Dhabi Media Office said in a statement today.

With Iranian drones and missiles targeting multiple sites in the Gulf nations, the UAE has so far seen 11 war-related deaths across the country, Gulf News reported. The casualties in the UAE include three members of its armed forces, besides eight people of Pakistani, Nepali, Bangladeshi, Palestinian and Indian nationalities, UAE’s Ministry of Defence said.

Since the onset of Iranian aggression, following the killing of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei by joint US-Israeli strikes on February 28, UAE air defences have engaged 357 ballistic missiles, 15 cruise missiles and 1,815 UAVs, the Defence ministry informed.
