New Delhi: Bollywood superstar Salman Khan is not the only celebrity being targeted by the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. Comedian Munawar Faruqui is also among those on the hitlist.
Recently, Faruqui was even chased by a hitman, Times Now reported. Timely inputs from intelligence agencies helped save Faruqui, and he was moved to Mumbai.
Sources informed Times Now that Bigg Boss winner Faruqui was taking a flight from Mumbai to Delhi, where he was scheduled to attend an event. Two members of Bishnoi gang were on the same flight, and had reportedly booked rooms in the same hotel where Faruqui was planning to stay in the national Capital.
Acting on intel reports, there was a swift and coordinated action by police at the Indira Gandhi Indoor stadium and The Suryaa hotel where Faruqui was staying.
Faruqui, who was participating in the Entertainers Cricket League 2024, was escorted to Mumbai. Police have launched an extensive investigation into the threat.
Bishnoi wants to eliminate Farooqui as he commented on Hindu god in one of his one of stand-up comic shows.
According to security agencies, Bishnoi is looking to present himself as a ‘Hindu underworld don’.
Since threat to Munawar still persists, Mumbai Police has provided security to him.
Police and central agencies are trying to find out whether Baba Siddiqui’s murder is because of his closeness with Salman, or if there is some other agenda.
