ISC Chemistry Exam Postponed 2 Hours Before Start; Was The Paper Leaked?
New Delhi: Thousands of students across the country were in for a shock on Monday as the ISC Chemistry Paper 1 (Theory) exam was postponed barely two hours before the scheduled starting time.
The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) said that the exam was being postponed “due to unforeseen circumstances.”
The Chemistry Paper 1 (Theory) exam has been rescheduled for March 21, from 2 pm.
“The ISC Chemistry Paper 1 (Theory) examination, scheduled for Monday, 26th February 2024, has been postponed due to unforeseen circumstances. The ISC Year 2024 Chemistry Paper 1 (Theory) examination has been rescheduled for Thursday, 21st March 2024, 2 РМ. You are requested to kindly disseminate this information to all concerned. We thank you for your support in the matter,” read a notification sent by CISCE deputy secretary Sangeeta Bhatia to all principals.
Bhatia refused to throw light on what prompted this eleventh-hour postponement.
“A fresh set of question papers of the said exam will be sent to convenors. The exam has been rescheduled for March 21. Besides this, I just cannot say anything to the press,” Hindustan Times quoted Bhatia as saying.
The most likely reason is that the paper could have been leaked.
According to experts, the fact that a new set of question papers will be sent to all convenors is an indication that the original paper must have been compromised somewhere.
The ISC exam, which started on February 12, will end on April 3.
