ISL: Odisha FC Brace For ‘Virtual’ Quarterfinal Vs Kerala Blasters At Kalinga Stadium
Bhubaneswar: Odisha FC ended the league phase of ISL 2023-24 with a disappointing defeat against NorthEast United FC at Guwahati.
In a match which didn’t have much bearing on their fortunes, Odisha FC rested some of their first XI players, conceding three first-half goals to go down 0-3 on Saturday.
Despite the loss, Odisha finished fourth with 39 points in 22 games.
In the playoff round, they will confront fifth-placed Kerala Blasters in what will be a virtual quarterfinal. What will comfort their fans is that Odisha FC play the knockout game against Kerala Blasters at their home fortress — Kalinga Stadium.
Throughout the season, Odisha FC have not lost a single ISL game at Kalinga Stadium – winning 8 and drawing 3.
They will hope for full-throated support from fans in Bhubaneswar, who have been a grest source of strength for the Juggernauts.
Against Kerala Blasters, Odisha lost 1-2 in Kochi back in October but won 2-1 at Kalinga Stadium in February.
