Hodeiah: Israel carried out airstrikes on Yemen’s Red Sea port of Hodeidah on Tuesday, targeting what it described as military infrastructure belonging to Yemen’s Houthi movement. The port is controlled by the Houthis, who have repeatedly launched attacks on ships in the Red Sea in solidarity with Palestinians in Gaza, claimed Israel.
A few hours prior to the strike, Israel had issued an evacuation order for the port. The attack follows a major Israeli strike in August which killed Houthi officials.
According to Al Masirah TV, which is affiliated with the Houthis, twelve Israeli strikes targeted the port’s docks. Two local sources at the port told Reuters that three docks—previously hit in earlier strikes and since restored—were among the targets. Residents reported the attack lasted around ten minutes.

Israel’s Defence Minister, Israel Katz, in a post on X, stated: “The Houthi terrorist organization will continue to suffer blows and will pay painful prices for any attempt to attack the State of Israel.”
The Houthi military spokesperson, Yahya Saree, said via Telegram that the group’s air defences managed to force Israeli warplanes away, though he provided no independent confirmation.
In its public statement, Israel’s military said its operation struck infrastructure that it asserted is used by the “Houthi terrorist regime” for transferring weapons supplied by Iran—allegedly to carry out attacks on Israel and its allies.
Israel has intensified attacks on Yemen over the last month. It had struck targets in the country’s Capital of Sanaa and adjoining Jawf province. The attacks were in response to the Houthi rebels’ drone attack which struck an Israeli airport, reports claim.
