Bhubaneswar: Manchester-based young IT entrepreneur Siba Ranjan Biswal was conferred the Best Non-Resident Odia Award recently.
The prestigious prize was presented to him during 9th Parampara Award Ceremony hosted by Parichay Foundation at Constitution Club in New Delhi. Biswal was selected for the award for his exemplary services towards development of Odia diaspora across the world.
Biswal received an ‘Uttariya’ and a memento from former Union Minister KJ Alphons, former Justice of Patna High Court VN Sinha, renowned artistes Geeta Chandran, Ileana Citaristi and former MLA Priyadarshi Mishra at the function. Founder president of Parichay Foundation Dr Rosalyn Patsani Mishra was also present. Dhwani Jain conducted the proceedings of the ceremony.
Biswal currently is currently the secretary general of World Odisha Society. He has also served as general secretary of Odisha Society of United Kingdom.
Born in 1977 at Berhampur in Ganjam district, Biswal dedicated the award to his parents. Having 22 years of experience as IT consultant, he has worked in several Fortune 500 companies. He founded IT firms, Essar Systems, UK and Essar Systems India in 2021.
Essar Systems provides learning of Odia language to students from all over the world free of cost. It is set to launch an online market place for women entrepreneurs worldwide to sell their products and services.
Essar has also been planning to develop a Virtual Anand Bazar in line of Lord Jagannath’s Bhoga Market in Puri to deliver Prasad to devotees all over the world keeping the quality, freshness and aroma in tact. In health care sector, Essar is going to introduce an online programme called Our Hospital, where people can interact with doctors and consultants virtually for treatment and expert opinion.
Biswal has been staying in Manchester with his family for the last 17 years.
