Gurugram: An IT manager was killed after being run over by his neighbour over a parking dispute.
The 28-year-old Rishabh Jasuja was hit by his neighbour’s Hyundai Creta car. The victim’s mother and brother were also injured in the incident which took place in Gurugram’s Sector 49 on Sunday night.
According to police, Rishabh returned home around 11.30 pm and parked the car in front of his neighbour Manoj Bhardwaj’s house.
That was the tipping point, igniting a heated exchange between Manoj and Rishabh, who was joined by his brother Ranjak and their mother.
The confrontation led to a brawl. The row escalated as Bharadwaj, who previously had altercations with Rishabh over parking, turned aggressive. He and some of his friends thrashed the Jasuja brothers with sticks.
Bharadwaj didn’t stop there. He got into his Creta and rammed the vehicle into the Jasuja brothers, dragging them on the bonnet for around 20 metres.
Ranjak fell on one side, while his brother Rishabh was crushed under the car.
Rishabh was rushed to a hospital, where he was declared dead. Ranjak is undergoing treatment, but quite critical, police said.
The incident was captured on CCTV.
The assailant fled the scene. Gurugram police have launched a search operation to nab the accused.
An FIR has been registered against Bhardwaj and others under sections 302 (murder), 307 (murder attempt), and 34 (common intention) of the IPC at Sector 50 Police Station, police said.
“An FIR has been registered against the unidentified and main accused Manoj Bhardwaj. We are conducting raids and the accused will be arrested soon,” SHO Inspector Satyawan said.
