Berhampur: An orphan girl child was adopted by an Italian couple from Utkal Balashram in Berhampur of Odisha’s Ganjam district.
As per sources, the Italian couple Nicola Gambora and Elisa Ubegio adopted Sneha after fulfilling all the formalities of adoption in India. District Collector Vijay Amruta Kulange handed over the child to the couple on Saturday in the presence of District Welfare Officer.
Sneha, who was rescued from an abandoned spot in Ganjam district on December 4, 2017, will now live in Genoa, a port city and capital of Liguria.
According to reports, 21 children from Ganjam district have been adopted by couples from different states in India and Sneha is the third child from Ganjam, adopted by a couple from a foreign country.
