Mumbai: Actor Piyush Mishra, who has worked with Ranbir Kapoor in ‘Rockstar’ and ‘Tamasha’, said that the latter doesn’t carry even 1% of his iconic family’s legacy.
According to Piyush, Ranbir is an actor who is quite serious and sincere only when he is shooting, but once the shoot is over, he is “completely light, completely free,” never carrying the burden of coming from a family of legends.
During a conversation with The Lallantop, Piyush shared, “Arre, don’t even ask — that guy is something else.”
He added, “Itna nanga besharam aadmi maine aaj tak nahi dekha! (I have never seen such a carefree person in my life).”
“He comes from such a long, long legacy — his father, his grandfather, his great-grandfather, all the way back to Prithviraj Kapoor. But none of that burdens him. Not even 1%,” Piyush opined.
Talking about working with Irrfan Khan in ‘Haasil’ and his death, Piyush said: “He left too soon, yaar. It hurts a lot… he was such a great actor.”
“To be honest, he (Irrfan) wasn’t that close a friend of mine — not the way he was with Tigmanshu Dhulia or Vishal Bhardwaj. We told each other, ‘You did good work.’ That’s where a bond formed,” Piyush shared.
“Maybe he and I couldn’t become so close, but I’ve heard he was a wonderful human being. May God give peace to his soul and make his sons great actors.”
On the work front, Ranbir will next be seen in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Love & War’ along with wife Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal.
Ranbir is also playing Ram in Nitish Tiwari’s highly-anticipated ‘Ramayana’.
