It’s Official, Ranbir, Yash And Sai Pallavi’s Ramayana To Release In Two Parts
New Delhi: Nitesh Tiwari made the official announcement of the much-awaited epic drama ‘Ramayana’ on Wednesday. Namit Malhotra, Founder and Global CEO of Prime Focus Studios, shared a poster of the film on social media, revealing that the movie will be released in two parts — in 2026 and 2027.
“More than a decade ago, I embarked on a noble quest to bring this epic that has ruled billions of hearts for over 5000 years to the big screen. And today, I am thrilled to see it taking shape beautifully as our teams work tirelessly with only one purpose: to present the most authentic, sacred, and visually stunning adaptation of our history, our truth, and our culture – our ‘RAMAYANA’ – for people across the world (sic),” read the caption of the producer’s post on Instagram.
He added, “Join us as we fulfill our dream of bringing our greatest epic to life with pride and reverence…(sic).”

While the cast of the film has not been officially revealed, Namit mentioned that the first part will be released in theatres during Diwali 2026, and the second part will follow a year later, on Diwali 2027. He concluded his post with, “From our entire Ramayana Family.”
Although it has not been officially confirmed yet, Ranbir Kapoor will play the role of Lord Ram, while Sai Pallavi will portray Sita. Several pictures and videos of the actors from the film’s set have frequently gone viral on social media, creating excitement among their fans.
One person who has confirmed his role is KGF star Yash, who is set to play Ravana in the epic drama. “It’s a very fascinating character. I wouldn’t have done it for any other reason. In Ramayana, if you had asked me ‘would you play any other character?’ Probably not. For me, Ravana is the most exciting character to play as an actor, so I really like the shades and the nuances of this particular character. There’s vast scope to present it in a very different way. As an actor, I am very excited. Hopefully, it’s going to be a very unique approach to it,” he told The Hollywood Reporter India.
In the same interview, Yash mentioned that he is co-producing the film, with plans to present it internationally.
