Washington:The personal assistant of Ivanka Trump, daughter of US President Donald Trump, has reportedly tested positive for COVID-19, according to media reports on Saturday.
She was working remotely for two weeks, according to officials.
The staff member became the third employee of the White House to be infected after one of Trump’s personal valets tested positive for coronavirus on Thursday due to contact tracing, according to a senior official.
While Ivanka and her husband Jared Kushner both tested negative on Friday, US Vice-president Mike Pence’s press secretary Katie Miller had also tested positive for coronavirus.
As a precautionary measure, masks have been made compulsory for White House staff members, and regular temperature and COVID-19 tests are likely to be conducted there, the officials told the media.
