Puri: The Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) has sought a Crime Branch probe into a fraudulent website deceiving devotees in the name of Bhakta Niwas.
The SJTA chief administrator Arabinda Padhee has written to Director General of the Crime Branch, seeking legal action against the culprits.
In the letter, he mentioned that bookings for the temple’s Bhakta Niwas are conducted only through the temple’s authorised websites, www.shreejagannatha.in and www.stayatpurijagannatha.in. However, some fraudsters have created counterfeit websites to mislead devotees. Fake bank accounts have also been created for financial transactions related to accommodation bookings.
Given the seriousness of the matter, the administration has urged immediate intervention from the Crime Branch.
