Puri: The Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) on Tuesday warned the sevayats against delay in the rituals of the Lords.
The decision to this effect was taken at the Temple Managing Committee presided over by Gajapati Maharaja Dibyasingh Deb in presence of the SJTA chief administrator Pradipta Mahapatra.
Talking to mediaperson after the meeting, Mahapatra said if any Palia sevayat delays the rituals, he will be debarred from the ‘Sadhibandha’ rituals. If he is found to have delayed the rituals thrice, he will be permanently debarred from the Palia service.
To expedite the rituals of the Lords, the meeting decided to conduct the ‘Sakala Dhupa’ and ‘Bhoga Mandap’ rituals simultaneously in the morning.
The meeting also discussed about fixing rates for the abhada to be sold at Anand Bazar inside the temple premises. The Committee handed over the rate chart of the abhada to the Suara-Mahasuara Nijog. A final decision would be taken after the Nijog reviews the rate fixed by the Temple Managing Committee.
Earlier in the day, a high-level meeting between the Suara-Mahasuara Nijog and chief administrator of SJTA was held.
Talking to mediapersons after the meeting, secretary of Suar Mahasuar Nijog, Krushna Chandra Samantray said that the rate chart of the abhada will be put up at the Anand Bazar for the devotees after the Nijog reviews the rate fixed by the Temple Managing Committee.
Though Samantaray did not mention the exact date of implementation of the new rates, he, however, said that the Nijog will try its best to fix the rate of the abhada which will be affordable for the devotees.
