Jana Poshana Programme To Support 5000 Families During COVID-19 Lockdown In Odisha
Bhubaneswar: ‘So Am I’ Foundation Trust, a not-for-profit organization, launched the Jana Poshana Programme under the Hunger Free Odisha initiative to provide ration to around 5,000 families in Odisha.
The organization will support these families (not covered under the Food Security Programme) for 15 days of the lockdown period in the state.
“I am extremely happy to launch such a timely initiative, which will take care of the two-time meals of almost 20,000 for 15 days, in a non-government initiative. I must appreciate the effort of the ‘So Am I’ Foundation and generosity of the MG Mohanty firm,” state additional chief secretary, Pradipta Mohapatra was quoted by media as saying.
Under the Hunger Free Odisha initiative, cooked lunch, snacks and dinner are being served to about 1000 on-duty police/traffic constables, elderly persons, women, disabled persons and stranded migrant labourers daily, since March 24.
