Bhubaneswar: With the entire Odisha capital wearing a deserted look in view of the Janata Curfew announced by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi to fights the novel coronavirus, the Commissionerate Police on Sunday made special arrangements to help the denizens attend to emergency works.
Informing the media, DCP Anup Sahoo said any citizen having urgent work will have to obtain a pass from the police either by dialing 100 or from the IICs and the ACPs, who are on duty in their respective areas and zones.
Talking about the measures taken by the police during Janata Curfew, the DCP said 40 platoons of police and about 100 officers are pressed on duty to prevent any untoward incident.
“Patrolling in the city has been intensified since early morning to ensure that all trading establishments are closed and no vehicles ply on the road in accordance with the directive of the state government,” he pointed out.
