Bhubaneswar: Nearly 2.31 lakh students across the country, including 6304 from Odisha, appeared for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced 2018 which began on Sunday.
In Odisha, 6304 students are appearing for the examination at different centres in Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Rourkela and Berhampur.
The examination which began at 9 am, will have two sittings. The Paper-I test will be held from 9 am to 12 pm and Paper-II test from 2 pm to 5 pm.
The computer-based examination is being conducted by the IIT-Kanpur.
As per instructions, students were allowed into the examination centres from 7.30 am with a printed copy of the downloaded admit card along with an original photo identity card.
The students will not be allowed to leave the examination hall an hour before the examination.
The results will be declared on June 10.
Category-wise All India Ranks (AIR) of successful candidates will be available through the online portal after the results are declared. Text messages will be sent to the students to their registered mobile numbers. However, no individual rank cards will be sent to them.
The performance of a student in this examination will form the basis for admission to the Bachelor’s, Integrated Master’s and Dual Degree programs (entry at the 10+2 level) in all 23 IITs of the country.
