Mumbai: The engineering entrance exam JEE (Advanced) 2022 has been postponed to August 28, IIT-Bombay, which is conducting the exam, announced on Thursday.

The Joint Entrance Examination was earlier scheduled to be held on July 3.

The exam, comprising two papers, will be held in two shifts: 9am-noon and 2.30 pm-5.30 pm. While the online registration for JEE(A) will be allowed from August 7-11, fees will have to be paid by August 12 (5 pm). The registration fee is Rs 1400 for SC, ST, PWD, and female candidates.

Candidates can download admit cards from August 23 (10 am) to August 28 (2:30 pm).

ELIGIBILITY

>> Candidates need to rank among the top 2.5 lakh in BE/BTech in JEE (Main) 2022 to be able to take JEE(A).

>> Candidates who took Class XII exams in 2020 or 2021, successfully registered for JEE(A) 2021 but were absent for both papers of JEE(A) 2021 can appear directly for JEE(A) 2022.

>> As a “one-time special measure”, candidates who appeared in Class XII exams in 2020 can also take JEE(A) 2022 provided they didn’t land a seat in any of the IITs in 2021.

“The Joint Admission Board of JEE(A) at the first JAB meeting held on December 14, 2021, deliberated on the numerous representations received regarding the eligibility criteria and was of the view that the exceptional circumstances and hardships faced due to the Covid-19 pandemic required some relaxation to be given. These relaxations are special one-time measures only,” said the IITs in their press note.

A copy of candidate responses will be made available on the JEE (Advanced) 2022 website on September 1 while the online display of provisional answer keys will be made on September 3 (10 am).  The online declaration of final answer keys and result of JEE Advanced 2022 will be declared at 10 am on September 11.

Candidates can check the revised exam schedule at jeeadv.ac.in.

This will be the third year when the exam will not be held outside India, but candidates can travel to the country to take it. Centres will be set up in 209 cities.
