New Delhi: The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced for admission to IITs – which was earlier scheduled for May 17 — will now be conducted on August 23, Union Human Resource Development (HRD) minister Ramesh Pokhriyal announced on Thursday.
A few days ago, HRD ministry had notified that the JEE Main exams will be held from July 18 to July 23, and the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) on July 26.
All dates had to be revised in the wake of the nationwide lockdown, necessitated by the Covid-19 pandemic.
A total of 16.84 lakh candidates will appear in NEET (UG)-2020, to be conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for admissions to MBBS/BDS courses and other undergraduate medical courses in approved/recognised medical/dental and other colleges/institutes in India.
As for JEE Mains, over 9 lakh will be sitting for the tests.
Registration process for JEE Advanced will commence after the results of second JEE Main has been published.
