Berhampur: The jewellery shops in Odisha’s Berhampur will remain shut till July 19 as a precautionary measure in view of the rising COVID-19 cases.
The ‘Berhampur Jewellers Association’ has taken a decision in this to ensure safety of its community members.
The shops were earlier closed from July 7-12. “We have only extended the time period”, said association secretary Epari Siva Prasad Rao.
Ganjam has so far reported 4417 cases. With 43 deaths and 2185 recoveries, the district now has 1917 active cases.
