Jharkhand Polls: Drive Out Alamgir, Irfan Like We Ousted Babar From Ayodhya, Exhorts Biswa Sarma

Ranchi: Three days ahead of the first phase of polling in Jharkhand Assembly elections, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma launched a scathing attack on Congress.

The BJP leader, who is the saffron party’s co-incharge for Jharkhand polls, called on the people of Jharkhand to remove “corrupt leaders like Alamgir Alam and Irfan Ansari” from the state, just as the BJP had removed Babar from Ayodhya.

“We will drive out ministers like Alamgir Alam and Irfan Ansari, who plundered Jharkhand, akin to how we ousted Babar from Ayodhya,” Biswa Sarma said, referring to the 1992 demolition of Babri Masjid which was built during the reign of first Mughal emperor Babar.

Biswa Sarma accused the Congress party of trying to divide Hindus to further their vote bank politics.

“Congress seeks to divide Hindus for their political gain. Remember, ek rahoge to safe rahoge (You will be safe if you stay united),” Biswa Sarma said.

“We see people like Irfan Ansari and Alamgir Alam influencing the Santhal Pargana region. They are the wealthiest. The government is protecting people like Irfan Ansari. He (Irfan Ansari) will have to go to jail for the foul language he has used against Sita Soren,” ANI quoted Sarma as saying.

Congress leader Alamgir, a former Jharkhand minister, is in jail over a multi-crore money-laundering case while Irfan is facing flak for making allegedly derogatory remarks against Sita Soren, a BJP candidate and sister-in-law of chief minister Hemant Soren.
