Bhubaneswar: Jharsuguda in Odisha witnessed a sharp rise of 4.2°C in the night temperature in the last 24 hours owing to an approaching western disturbance and moisture incursions due to the presence of an anti-cyclonic circulation in the Bay of Bengal.

Senior meteorological Umasankar Das mentioned this while explaining the reason behind the rise in the mercury after the industrial town saw a dip of over 8°C at night in the last 3 days, through a post on X.
