Bhubaneswar: In view of the rise in working from home and online classes concept amid COVID-19 crisis, broadband internet provider Reliance Jio has extended its services across Odisha.
The service, which is currently available in Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Rourkela, Sambalpur and Balangir, is being extended to Jajpur Road, Puri, Jharsuguda, Koraput, Angul, Kendrapada and Sundargarh. Bhawanipatna, Brajarajnagar, Jatni and Jagatsingpur will also get JioFiber services in the next few weeks, the company said in a press release.
It is also expanding the areas in which the service is currently available.
JioFiber is one of the fastest Internet Service Providers (ISPs) in the state with speed ranging from 100 Mbps to 1 Gbps.
In addition to internet, JioFiber comes with a fixed phone line, Ultra-HD Set-Top box for TV and OTT content, Jio Meet for video conferencing and more.
It is important to note that the service availability of ISPs is highly dependent on cable or tower availability in the area. Height of buildings is a concern for wireless providers. Other leading ISPs in Odisha are BSNL, Ortel, Wefe, Jetspot, Railtel and Wifinitive.
