J&K Invites Filmmaker Imtiaz Ali To Promote Local Art And Culture
New Delhi: Popular Bollywood filmmaker Imtiaz Ali has been roped in by the Jammu and Kashmir government to promote local art and culture.
According to a report in India TV, the J&K government on Tuesday asked the filmmaker to provide a necessary platform to the local artistes and youth by conducting workshops and related activities.
Ali, who has shot for several films in J&K, is quite interested in making films by casting local artistes, using local themes, music, art and locales.
Speaking to reporters, Ali said that he admires the culture, art and talent found among the J&K artistes.
He further said that the old, traditional folklores could be translated into the best cinematic presentations and the youth have to come forward to make their abilities known to the world.
Secretary of Culture and Tourism Sarmad Hafeez and Director of Archaeology and Museums Munir-ul-Islam were also present on the occasion.
