The state government has decided to start Jungle Safari inside Similipal National Park in Mayurbhanj district.
According to sources, the safari, covering Gudgudi to Devastali, will be 25 km long.
The Forest and Environment Department has been asked to make plans for which type of vehicles and animals to be be available in the safari route.
Meanwhile in Satkosia, the government has decided to extend the boating facility through the gorge region of Mahanadi from Badmul to Tikarpada. Currently, it is available only at Tikarpada.
The gorge region of the Mahanadi is said to be one of the deepest and is home to crocodiles.
Well-equipped large boats and safety arrangements are being made. Apart from boating, a jungle safari is being planned between Chutkei and Taluka waterfall inside Satkosia Tiger Reserve area.
