Keonjhar: Police have detained a minor boy for allegedly raping a minor girl in the district.
According to sources, the 17-year-old boy had taken the 15-year-old girl on a visit to his uncle’s house in Erendei village under Patana Police station on Friday. The boy allegedly raped the girl in his uncle’s house the same day.
On returning to her house, the girl told her family about the incident and her family members filed a complaint at Ghatagaon police station on Saturday.
Amit Kumar Bhuyan, IIC of Ghatagaon police station said after the complaint was lodged, the boy has been detained.
He was produced before juvenile board and then sent to juvenile home at Rourkela on Sunday, Bhuyan added.
