Kalinga Hospital Conducts Free Health Camp For Autism Awareness In Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: With 70 to 80 autistic children being born everyday in Odisha, a free health camp was organised by Kalinga Hospital in Bhubaneswar.

The camp, which was organised in association with the Zain Foundation during Autism Awareness Week, aimed at promoting awareness and supporting individuals with autism spectrum disorders (ASD). It also facilitated accessible healthcare services to the autism community.

The health camp holds significance as around 40,000 differently-abled children were identified by the state government during a survey in 2021. The government had planned to conduct the survey every year for the identification and care of children with autism.

“We are committed to promoting health equity and supporting individuals with autism. Our free health check-up camp aims to provide accessible healthcare services and raise awareness about autism spectrum disorders,” said Nilanjana Mukherjee, Managing Director, Kalinga Hospital Ltd.

“The Zain Foundation is continuously working for upliftment of the autism sections of the society. This health-camp will encourage the autistic children and their parents to know the importance of the health check-up in life,” said Gargi Bhattacharya, Chief Trustee, ZAIN Foundation.
