[Watch] Kamakhya Express Derails Near Nirgundi In Odisha’s Cuttack; 3 Trains Diverted

Bhubaneswar: Multiple coaches of Kamakhya Express derailed near Nirgundi railway station in Cuttack’s Choudwar on Sunday.

According to reports, passengers were seen de-boarding the train with their luggages after the train jumped tracks while en route to Guwahati from Bengaluru. “No injuries or casualties have been reported in the mishap involving eleven coaches,” CRPO, East Coast Railway (ECoR), Ashoka Mishra told the media.

The incident took place at around 11.54 am.

Mishra informed that DRM Khurda Road, GM/ECoR and other higher level officials have rushed to the spot. “Accident Relief and Medical Relief Train have departed for the site. Arrangements are being made to help the affected passengers reach their destinations. Our priority is to restore the line at the earliest and accordingly other trains will be diverted,” he said.
