Kangana Ranaut Spells Out The Reason For Selling Pali Hill Bungalow In Mumbai
Mumbai: Bollywood actor and Member of Parliament (MP) Kangana Ranaut recently sold her Pali Hill Bungalow in Mumbai for Rs 32 crore.
In an interview with News 18 on Monday, she revealed that the reason for selling this premium property, used as the office of Manikarnika Films, was a financial emergency. It was the same bungalow which courted controversy for illegal construction and was partly demolished by Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) in 2020.
“Naturally, my film was supposed to release. I put all my personal property on it. Now that it’s not released, so anyway, that’s what properties are for – for times of crisis,” Kangana said.
As per property registration document, the property was bought for Rs 20 crore in 2017.
Emergency, which has been co-produced by Manikarnika Films and Zee Studios, was slated for release on September 6. But due to a delay in approval by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), the film’s release has been postponed indefinitely. Recently, the film was given a U/A certification on the condition that the film undertakes a few edits as specified by the CBFC. However, the film’s release remains uncertain.
