Kapil Sharma, Rajpal Yadav, Sugandha Mishra and Remo D'Souza received death threats on email
Mumbai: Kapil Sharma has been issued a death threat through email, originating from Pakistan.
The actor-comedian is the latest celebrity to be targeted, after actor Rajpal Yadav, choreographer Remo D’Souza and actor-singer Sugandha Mishra received similar threats from Pakistan over the last few weeks.
An FIR has been registered in Mumbai in connection with the death threats and an investigation is underway, according to Hindustan Times.
The threat, sent through email, read: “We are monitoring your recent activities and we believe it is important that we bring to your attention a sensitive matter. This is not a publicity stunt or an attempt to harass you, we urge you to treat this message with utmost seriousness and confidentiality.”
The email bears the name of the sender as ‘BISHNU.’
Rajpal received an email last month from a sender named Bishnu, threatening to kill comedian Kapil and his team because ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’ is being sponsored by Salman Khan.
Rajpal’s wife Radha Rajpal Yadav lodged a complaint at Amboli Police Station in Mumbai. Based on that complaint, a case under section 351 (3) of Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita has been registered.
The IP address of the sender has been traced to Pakistan and police is seeking help from the government to communicate with Pakistan.
Kapil hogged the limelight after winning ‘The Great Indian Laughter Challenge 3’ and went on to feature in comedy shows like ‘Comedy Circus.’
He rose to fame with the popular show ‘The Comedy Nights with Kapil’. He also featured in films namely Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon, Firangi, Zwigato, and Crew.
Rajpal, popular for his comic roles in films, was last seen in Anees Bazmee’s ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3.’
