Mumbai: After being trolled and called out for nepotism post actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s death, filmmaker Karan Johar has completely severed himself from social media platforms.
A close friend of the filmmaker has revealed that KJo is completely shattered and broken as his kids are getting death threats and those close to him are being attacked despite being innocent.
“Karan’s three-year-old twins are getting death threats. Somebody like Ananya Pandey who has no connection with Sushant, was asked to commit suicide to compensate for Sushant’s death,” said KJo’s friend, while revealing about the things that have taken a toll on the filmmaker’s health.
The friend also said that Karan’s health is deteriorating day by day and he breaks down whenever someone calls him.
Asked if Karan will come out with any statement to clear the air around nepotism charges against him, the filmmaker’s friend said that his lawyer has asked him not to issue any statement.
“Lawyer has advised him to keep mum. Karan is not in a condition to speak now. The fight has gone out of his hands. He looks like a man beaten by fate. It’s not a pleasant experience to speak to Karan. He breaks down and cries when we call him. He is constantly crying and asking what did he do to deserve this?” said the friend.
After being at the receiving end post-Sushant’s death, Karan unfollowed all the celebrities on Twitter except Akshay Kumar, Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan. He even resigned from the MAMI Board.
Earlier, in the controversial chat show ‘Koffee With Karan’, Karan Johar and Alia Bhatt had made fun of late Sushant Singh Rajput. This didn’t go down well with Sushant’s fans, who took to social media to troll KJo and others who had mocked at the actor.
Moreover, Karan reportedly prefers to work with star kids rather than the outsiders. This too irked the netizens and they called out the filmmaker for nepotism in Bollywood.
