Kareena Kapoor Turns 43; Bollywood’s ‘Poo’ Wants To Graduate From Being Star To Actor

New Delhi: Bollywood’s ‘Poo’ Kareena Kapoor rang in her 43rd birthday at her Mumbai residence dressed in an ethnic yellow outfit. Elder sister Karisma took to her Instagram stories to share inside glimpses into Kareena’s birthday celebration.

Kareena can be seen cutting a massive chocolate cake as she looks into the camera. Sharing the particular pic, Karisma wrote: “Happy birthday to my lifeline!” In another photo, Kareena and Karisma strike a stylish pose.

Meanwhile, Kareena also hinted during a recent interview that she would be making a comeback in Singham film series. A user shared a video from Kareena’s interview on Reddit, wherein the actress spoke about wanting to do more character-driven roles.

In a recent interview with Film Companion, the ‘Jab We Met’ star extensively spoke about her 23-year-long acting career  and revealed why she finds this new phase in her career highly exciting.

“Of course, there will be The Crew and Singham and all of that which is still be whatever quintessential heroine as Bebo. But I am just loving myself, exploring myself as an actor.”

“Now it’s no more about stardom. I don’t want to do stardom anymore. I want to do characters because I always wanted to be in front of the camera and being known as an actor. That’s also been top priority always. And obvious Poo, Geet and blockbuster that is part of 23 years. It can’t not me. I am probably having the best time in my career right now. And with next two films whether it’s Jaane Jaan or The Buckingham Murders which is in British film festivals. I am kind of expecting a phase which is unknown that I am super super excited. It’s not about success and failure, but discovering myself to be a better actor. I know it is not about pressure of the box office numbers,” said Kareena.

Kareena Kapoor Khan is playing the role of Maya D’Souza, a single mother in Jaane Jaan, which also features actors Vijay Varma and Jaideep Ahlawat in pivotal roles. The Sujoy Ghosh directorial, which features Varma in the role of Inspector Karan Anand and Ahlawat as Maya’s neighbor Naren, a professor, is releasing today on Netflix.
