Mumbai: Karisma Kapoor recently had a candid moment with paparazzi on the set of ‘India’s Best Dancer Season 5’, as she requested them not to zoom in while clicking her pictures. The brief interaction quickly caught attention online, sparking mixed reactions from social media users.
Karisma, who will soon be seen judging a show alongside Geeta Kapur, Terence Lewis and Jaaved Jaaferi, was interacting with paparazzi outside the set when she gave her advice.
After wrapping up the shoot, she gently requested the paps, “Zyada zoom mat karna (don’t zoom in too much).”
The moment quickly went viral, with many users highlighting how invasive paparazzi behaviour can be.
A section of users felt that such requests shouldn’t be necessary and stressed the need for more respect while photographing public figures.
Reacting to the viral vi
deo, a Reddit user wrote, “The fact that this needs to be told to grown-a** individuals!”
Another user commented, “It’s actually very sad.”
A third posted, “BREAKING NEWS: A mother of two kids, an established actress, and most importantly a woman asks grown men to be decent and basic human beings having basic etiquettes required to be in a society.”
The incident has once again highlighted the need for clear boundaries between celebrities and photographers in public spaces.
It also brings back similar instances from the past, when actors like Shruti Haasan, Jaya Bachchan, Salman Khan, Ranbir Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan spoke out against intrusive behaviour by paparazzi.
India’s Best Dancer Season 5 will premiere on Sony TV on May 9.
Its recently-released promo, featuring Jaaved Jaaferi, hints at a season that blends Bollywood-style and freestyle dance performances.
Karisma was last seen in ‘Murder Mubarak’. She will next feature in the upcoming web series, ‘Brown’, though its release date is yet to be announced.
