Karnataka: Chief Minister Yediyurappa’s Political Secretary Attempts Suicide By Consuming Sleeping Pills
Bengaluru: The political secretary of Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa, NR Santosh allegedly attempted suicide by consuming sleeping pills at his residence on Friday, reported news agency ANI. Santosh was admitted to MS Ramaiah Hospital here.
Police rushed to the hospital immediately after he was admitted. “I don’t know why he did this. Doctors are treating him,” Yediyurappa was quoted as saying by the news agency.
“I will speak to the members of his family. I don’t know what is the reason behind it. He is stable now. There is nothing to worry,” Yediyurappa said.
“I just spoke to him. He’s under the influence of sleeping pills. He spoke to me well. I had met him in the morning, he was fine. We went for a walk also. There must be something. He’ll tell you why he did this. Don’t worry,” Yediyurappa added.

According to reports, Santosh was suffering from depression. The hospital has still not given any statement on the matter.
