Washington: Days after US President Donald Trump removed Attorney General Pam Bondi from office, speculation is mounting that FBI Director Kash Patel could face dismissal as part of a reshuffle within the administration, according to reports.
The development comes amid signs of continued churn in Trump’s second-term administration, following a series of exits and growing internal pressure over important policy and legal issues.
According to reports cited by Ht, discussions are underway within the White House about potential leadership changes involving several senior officials, including Patel.
Former FBI agent Kyle Seraphin reportedly suggested that Patel’s position could be at risk, saying there was “a decent possibility that Kash Patel is fired and there is a total reshuffle,” while citing unnamed sources familiar with the matter.
However, the report also noted that no decision had been taken and that the timing of any possible move remained uncertain.
The speculation follows Trump’s recent dismissal of Bondi, which analysts say may signal a willingness by the president to make further personnel changes.
Patel, who became FBI director in 2025, is considered a Trump loyalist and has previously held several national security positions during Trump’s previous administration.
